How XP, streaks and credits work

Charta has two kinds of reward. Experience points (XP) and streaks are for motivation and are never worth money. Credits can become a discount, and are paid only for work the app can see you do. The figures below can change as we tune them.

Experience points (XP)

XP rewards doing the work, not ticking boxes. You earn it for:

What you doXPDaily limit
Answer ten questions on a topic area203 sets a day
Hand in a mock exam302 a day
Analyse a mock (tag at least five of your mistakes)40
Finish a revision session (at least ten cards)20
Watch a whiteboard lesson to the end252 a day
A calendar task the app checked105 a day

Your daily goal is 60 XP. An answer only counts if you spent at least four seconds on it. XP raises your level and earns badges, nothing else.

Streak

Your streak is the number of days in a row on which you did something that counts: a checked calendar task, or any of the above. You get one free missed day each week, so a single bad day does not reset it. The app tells you when today still needs doing to keep the streak alive.

Badges

There is one badge for each topic area, earned once you have answered enough questions there with good accuracy (for example Quant Cruncher or Risk Foundations Pro), plus general badges for consistency and for calendar milestones: your first task, week one, halfway, and four weeks on time.

Credits

Credits come only from your study calendar, and only for tasks the app can verify, finished by the end of that calendar week (Sunday).

200 credits buy a discount code for a session with a human tutor, worth £10 in the UK and a smaller share in lower-income countries (30 per cent of that). You can redeem one a month, and a code is valid for 90 days. The discount comes out of Charta’s share, not the tutor’s.

Where you see it

The Study calendar tab shows your tasks, deadlines, credits, XP, streak and badges. The weekly report arrives by email on Mondays if you have weekly emails on.
